I still remember the night I met Lourdes Simón. It was at the old Teatro Avante in Coral Gables, where she was performing. I went with a group of friends on that Saturday night, and to our amazement the theatre was empty. We had tried to go the night before, but it was sold out. This seem odd to us, but we waited, and about a half hour later the door opened and this radiant, amazonic looking woman strolls right in. As soon as she spoke, she disarmed all of us, and we fell head over heels for her. She went on to do a fabulous show, and the rest is history...

Lourdes is an actress, a singer, a poet, and now an artist, and a Reiki Master. I have always known that she is a wealth of creativity, and someone to pay attention to. She has not lived in Miami for years now, but from time to time I hear from her, or of her, and it brings back tons of memories. I can still recall her version of Freddy’s song, and her unique voice singing….Dicen que soy una estrella, que me convertí en una de ellas, para brillar en la eterna nocheeeeeeeeeeee!!!!

I am so very happy to present to you today La Simón!

Thank you Manny!
Lourdes Simón

What do you consider to be the worst human trait?

- Dishonesty. Sincerity of heart and purpose drives and motivates me.

What’s your idea of happiness?

- It’s the little things. A child’s laughter, un bistec de palomilla empanizado con plátanos maduros fritos y arroz blanco, being in a constant state of thankfulness.

Who are your favorite historical figures?

- The Persian poet Rumi.

What quality do you most admire in a man?

- His ability to recognize the gift he has in Woman.

What quality do you most admire in a woman?

-Her capacity to love and endure.

What’s your strongest quality?

- I like to make people happy, to raise their vibration and, in some way, be an instrument for their mental and spiritual expansion.

What quality do you most admire in your friends?

- Their sense of integrity.

How would you like to die?

-Gently.

How are you feeling right now?

- I’m peaceful.

What’s your favorite quote?

- “Our only karma is love” and this fortune cookie advice I got once: “There’s no time like the pleasant.”

I have know Lourdes for a long time and although I have not spoken to her in many years - the interview and her answers is still the woman I met a long time ago and I am glad that she has stayed the same. A constant reminder that her spirituality is still so beautiful and her heart is still in the right place. It is nice to see that she never stopped any of her dreams and that she is the most incredible woman I have ever know! Lourdes - here is to you and all that you do... you are amazing and you are looking fabulous!!
Besitos, tu amiga para siempre!

Thank you, thank you, thank you. I love you Manny; Lynnette eres preciosa; Delio sigo enamorada de ti; y Pedro, gracias. A ver si nos inventamos un showcito, eh? Un comeback, something. Si la Minelli lo hace a cada rato... Los quiero mucho. Besos. Lourdes

Great article! Lourdes is a new friend of mine, but someone I've known for a very long time. I, and others, benefit from her generosity. She's a facilitator of change!
