Irreversible Art Space "factory II": Statement

Stages of factory II

Walker, it is your footsteps that are the road, no more;
 walker, there is no road, the road is made by walking"

Antonio Machado, poet

I have always been interested in analyzing the relationships of Curators and Artists and of course it's taken me a long time. In IRREVERSIBLE ART SPACE, factory Labs, I am pursing a path of experiencing art from my differences which are continuously challenging for IRREVERSIBLE's curatorial praxis. Current art discourses and practices are based on the notions of western supremacy. Even when these notions are openly questioned, a self-critical treatment of supremacist-contaminated ideology and terminology in cultural studies are constantly challenged by how deeply this view of the world is ingrained in the thinking processes and paradigms (Arndt, Hornsceidt 2004).

Additionally, this attempt to decipher my own codes of ethics and aesthetics, must remain devoid of some important references which I would like to quote. "Beyond these theoretical and perceptual constraints, my intention is to leave a testimony to be discussed in different frameworks".

I would like to extend my deepest and sincere gratitude to the participating artists: Alejandro Mendoza, Pablo Cano, Tomas Esson, Lucinda Linderman, Catherine Tafur, Ciro Quintana, Ana Marais, Frank Hyder, Sinuhe Vega and Yovani Bauta, who collectively succeeded in revolutionizing our history by opening new doors of perception and developing an alternative vision which remains an effective part of the assumptions and ideas surrounding the art today.
