New home of Catholic Legal Services in downtown Miami

(Archdiocese of Miami) — Archbishop Thomas Wenski was on hand Dec. 16 to bless the new home of Catholic Legal Services in downtown Miami, specifically the Ingraham Building, 25 S.E. Second Ave., Suite 220.

Catholic Legal Services is a non-profit organization under the auspices of the Archdiocese of Miami that provides professional immigration services to the refugee and immigrant communities in South Florida. The Legal Services staff provides both application assistance and attorney representation before Citizenship and Immigration Services, the Immigration Courts and the Board of Immigration Appeals.

The agency was established as the G.W.L. Legal Project of the Notre Dame d’Haiti Mission in 1994 and incorporated in 1997. More than 1,000 individuals seek the agency’s services each month. Catholic Legal Services also provides pro bono help to individuals and families who qualify based on income, eligibility status, and the availability of resources.
