Born in Cuba, Félix Varela developed many and diverse activities during his life. Not only was he a priest and teacher of Latin and philosophy, but also an educator, writer, editor, scientist, philosopher, a teacher of constitutional rights, a Representative at the Spanish "Cortes", not to mention a journalist, theologian and musician. All these activities were interwoven by the spirituality of a genuine thinker.
