Flowers are botanical organs that, through their colors, shapes and fragrances, provoke insects, birds and other beings to do their bidding . Humans associate them with pleasant memories, use them for decorative purposes; give them as tokens of affection to the living and the dead; and use them as offering to deities. Bloom Blast is an art exhibit that utilizes flowers as a communication device. In this show, artists make flowers do their bidding by using them to subtly or blatantly express ideas about the current human condition. Whether viewers are moved by a commentary on technology, by traversing the spiritual realm or by basking in the delights of sensuality, everyone is bound to experience some visual stimulation. Miguel Rodez Art Projects (4229 SW 75 Ave, Miami FL 33145) invites you to witness artists channeling flowers during the Bird Road Art Walk on October 19, 2013 from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m.
