(Miami) Call to Artists: Contemporary Portraits

A portrait is an artistic representation of a person's likeness. It is a composed image that seeks to portray the person's likeness, character and even mood.

Miguel Rodez Art Projects is seeking artwork for a contemporary portrait show. If you know outstanding artists who may be interested in participating in a contemporary portrait show, please share the event on your page or message them about the event.

This show is for serious creative artists who are masters of their chosen medium. There is a strong preference for new innovative works that have not been previously shown. Older work, may be considered, as long as it is deemed contemporary and of high caliber. The artist represents that the artists has the authorization of the subject, to exhibit the person's likeness. Artists may submit self-portraits. Please do not submit portraits of celebrities, historical figures or reinterpretation of works by other artists.

The event is in the planning stages and is artwork driven, that is to say, it will take place when a juror panel determines that the number high quality artworks has reached the level that will enable the show proceed. The site of the show may be Miguel Rodez Art Project's space, but plans in the works to locate a larger venue. The creation of a show catalog are in the works.

Deadline: June 14, 2014

Medium: Painting, drawing, digital art, ceramic, sculpture, etc (no photography)

Size: Any size between 12" x 12" and 86" x 86."

Transportation to and from the show location: Artists are responsible.

Shipping: Artists are responsible.
