Eight visual artists were asked to create artwork on an unusually large narrow format. Each of the pieces will be suspended side by side at one of FIU's most iconic buildings: The Green Library.
Each of the participating artists were given the freedom to create anything they wished, as long as it was consistent with his or her style. They each took their own divergent path that ranged from non-representational lyrical abstraction to figurative expressionism. All the pieces were completed in March or April of 2019. So, the pieces represent some of the most recent works created by these artists. The list of participating artists and the title of their pieces are found below.
Please accept our invitation to the opening of 8 Visual Paths. The opening will take place at The FIU Green Library, on Saturday, April 20, 2019 from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
We hope that you enjoy seeing the divergent paths that each of the selected artists took when addressing this challenge.
